1.1 Introduction
Hello and welcome to this Tuts+ course about WordPress widgets. My name is Rachel McCollin. And in this course, I'm gonna show you everything you need to know about WordPress widgets. So we're gonna look at the widget screen and also Managing widgets in the customizer, I'll also show you how you can use widget blocks in the Gutenberg interface to add widgets to the content of your posts and pages. I'll show you some examples of sites that already use widgets and show you what kind of content you might put in a widget and I'll show you how to create your own widget area in your theme by using the register sidebar function. And we'll create two widget areas in our theme down here. I'll then show you how to create a plug-in that creates your own widget. And this call to action widget will be created by a plug-in. Watch this course and find out all about WordPress widgets.
