How to Install Android Studio
Android Studio is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms, and you can download it from the Android Studio homepage. However, before you download it, ensure your operating system meets the following requirements:
Proceed to download the appropriate Android Studio distribution file and install it according to your operating system.
Android Studio Install for Windows
- For a .exe file (recommended), double-click to launch it.
- For a .zip file, unpack the ZIP and copy the android-studio folder into your Program Files folder. Open the android-studio/bin folder and launch the .exe file.
- Follow the setup instructions in Android Studio and install any SDK packages that it recommends.
Android Studio Install for Linux
- Unpack the .zip file you downloaded to /usr/local for your user profile, or /opt for shared users.
- To launch Android Studio, open a terminal, go to the android-studio/bin directory, and run studio.sh.
- Choose whether to import previous Android Studio settings or not, and then click OK.
- The Android Studio Setup will guide you through the rest of the process.
Android Studio Install for Mac
- Launch the Android Studio DMG file.
- Drag and drop Android Studio into the Applications folder, and then launch Android Studio.
- Select whether to import previous Android Studio settings, and then click OK.

What Is the Android SDK?
The Android software development kit (SDK) is a crucial part of the Android development process. The Android SDK consists of development tools used to develop applications for the Android platform. It provides the necessary libraries needed to build Android apps and includes the following:

- Android tutorials

What Is Android Debug Bridge (ADB)?
ADB is a debugging tool used in the Android development environment. It is a client-server program for performing a variety of device actions, such as installing and debugging apps. It also provides access to a Unix shell for running commands. It includes the following three components:
- The client sends commands to the server.
- The daemon (the adbd) runs commands on a device.
- The server manages communication between the client and the daemon.
