WordPress Coding Basics: Adding Hooks to Your Themes

1.1 Introduction

[SOUND] Hello, and welcome to this Tuts Plus coffee break course on adding action and filter hooks to your WordPress theme. In this course, we'll be using two functions, do_action, and apply_filters, and I'll show you how both of those work and how to add them to your files. So we'll be adding an action hook to our header file. We'll be adding two of them to our sidebar file, two more to our footer, and then, finally, we'll add a filter hook to our 404 file in our theme. Watch this course and find out how to do it.
