2.2 Codd's Twelve Commandments
Back in the 1980s, Edgar F. Codd wrote a list of thirteen criteria that a database must meet in order to be considered relational. While these rules aren’t hard and fast, they are good guidelines, and they’re a great way to start looking at the ideas of relational theory.
