1.2 The Project

Hay everybody, welcome back. So this course is about getting started with Falcon PHP framework. It gives you hands on experience with most of its core features and tries to break the ice between you and the Falcon. In this course we will be creating a simple phone book application. Take it as an elementary level clone of Google Contacts. The basic idea here is that by implementing the basic functionalities like create, read, update and delete, we will try to learn and understand the basic practices and concepts to get started with Falcon. You will be learning a lot of interesting things throughout this course starting with checking up on some prerequisites before starting with Falcon, then how the basic structure and files work in Falcon project. How to set up a bootstrap file, which is, by the way, very important file in any Falcon project. It gives you total control over every aspect of your application, then followed by some important concepts of Falcon PHP framework, like dependency injection, components and services. Then, a brief introduction with controllers and views, followed by creating your database and connecting it with your project. And that's all just from the chapter two of your course, relist office starts in chapter three where we have hands on with models implementation. We will also play with powerful find functionalities and its different aspects provided by the Falcon model class. Then, we will learn how a model's object can help you to create and update records in your DB with just one line of code. There is also remove functionality. Then, last but not least, would be some ins and outs of Falcon routing. And then some tips and tricks on how to keep your code organized by configuration files. There will also be multiple type of configuration file implementation that I am going to teach you in this course. And that's not just it folks. There is a lot of other interesting content on your way that you can get home from this course. So I invite you all to join me on this small journey of getting started with Falcon. I'm really excited about it and I really hope to see you in the next lesson. Until then, bye-bye.
