1.2 Fix JavaScript Code Style With StandardJS

In this lesson, I’ll show you how we can run Standard both globally and locally within a project. We’ll take a look at how we can add some basic configuration using the package.json file, and I’ll show you how to ignore entire files, or specific rules within files. You’ll also learn how Standard can correct simple formatting errors in your code, to make it easy to write in the Standard style.

Code Snippet

This example configuration for Standard in package.json identifies a file to ignore and lets Standard know about a global variable.

"standard": {
  "ignore": [
    "app/non-standard.js"
  ],
  "globals": [
    "libraryGlobal"
  ]
}
