4.1 Conclusion

Lumen is a fast and lightweight micro-framework for writing RESTful APIs. We didn’t get to cover every aspect of Lumen, but you can find lots more information in the Lumen documentation.

My name is Jeremy McPeak, and from all of us here at Envato Tuts+, thank you for watching!

4.1 Conclusion

Lumen is an extremely fast and lightweight framework for writing RESTful Web Services, and it combines that speed with an easy-to-use API reminiscent of Laravel. And, as you've learned in this course, you can create a performance and secure RESTful API by defining a few routes, running a few methods on the controller using Eloquent, and using the built-in authentication middleware. When you need a RESTful API without all the extra fluff of Laravel, Lumen is the right tool for the job. Now, before I leave you, it's my hope that you are ready to create your own new RESTful API after watching this course. I know that we didn't get to spend a lot of time going deeper into the framework itself, but Lumen is well-documented and has a thriving community ready to answer any questions you may have. Thank you so much for watching this course. Please feel free to get in contact with me through Twitter or the Tuts+ forums if you have any questions. Once again, thank you, and I will see you next time.
