Hello, my name is Jason Lewis and welcome to my course on building your first site in Laravel. This is a very small website that we're going to be putting together. It's going to be a mixture of static pages, served via Laravel's Blade templating system. And we're also going to be building a dynamic page which will serve as a contact form for our website. The form will have some input validation and we'll also be sending out an email. I'm going to be using PHP 7, but you can be using PHP 5.4 if that's all you've got. In this course, we're not going to be doing any sort of data interaction or storing any data in a database such as MySQL. However, we are going to be sending emails. So we'll be looking into how we can send emails using Mailtrap. We're also going to be doing some validation of our contact form. So we'll be using sessions to flash validation messages, which we can then show on our pages. After finishing this course, you should have a good understanding of how to build forms, handle form submissions, validation, sessions, sending of emails, creating static pages and using the Blade templating engine.
