New Courses On Tuts+ Premium!

by

It's time for your regular update from Tuts+ Premium! Each month, we continue to release more of the most requested courses from the community! If you haven't been by to say hello in the last few weeks, here's what's new from the web development side of the site!

PHP Fundamentals (21 Videos)

So you’ve learned the basics – HTML and CSS – and are now ready to dig into building your own dynamic websites. Congratulations for getting this far; now it’s time for the fun part! In this course, I’ll teach you, from scratch, how to use PHP; we’ll also, naturally, have to learn a bit of MySQL in the process!

This is a live course, and is updated every day during the work week! Check back often!

Advanced JS Fundamentals (12 Videos)

Without a doubt, JavaScript is the most popular programming language in the world. While the web development industry is chock full of frameworks and libraries that simplify some aspects of JavaScript development, there’s something to be said about having the skills to write pure JavaScript. Frameworks, libraries, and transpilers may come and go, but JavaScript is forever.

In JavaScript Fundamentals 101, we focused on the basics of the language. This follow-up course will focus on DOM scripting and events. So, if you’re a complete beginner, or a coder who has exclusively used frameworks in the past, this is the course for you.

TDD in Ruby (13 Videos)

Welcome to Test-Driven Development in Ruby! This course will teach you how to use Rspec, in conjunction with several others tools, to program in Ruby using TDD. I’ll teach you a variety of helpful techniques. Ready?

What's New In PHP? (13 Videos)

The highly anticipated update to PHP, version 5.4, was released on March 1st, 2012. As with each new major version, it introduced a variety of new features. Some of them are significant additions, while others are small, yet helpful, improvements.

In this course, I’ll introduce you to these new additions, so that you’ll be up and running as quickly as possible!

What Are You Using? - Nettuts+ Authors EditionCsaba
I previously asked several top developers the following four simple questions: What's your primary development focus? What hardware are you using for development? Which editor or IDE do you use? What software can you not live without on a daily basis? The article generated a lot of interest and discussion about the tools the community is using which was really great! We love to motivate discussions with our topics. Well, this also motivated us to ask the question, "Why don't we post about what we, the Nettuts+ authors use every day?" So we did just that. We chose ten Nettuts+ authors and asked them the same four questions. And like before, you'll find the answers they gave below and hopefully discover some tools that could make your development much easier. Read More…
